CARIS LEVERT’S

22 INITIATIVE PROGRAM

VISITS FACEBOOK’S NYC HQ

In partnership with UWantGame, Brooklyn Nets guard Caris Levert took students from his 22 Initiative program to Facebook’s NYC headquarters in January.

The students from Brooklyn Community Arts and Media High School were given a tour of the state-of-the-art facility and then met with a few executives in the company’s sports department, who gave the kids career advice and a behind-the-scenes look at how social media platforms work on the back end, usage behavior on those platforms and the role that sports play in them.

Levert also took questions from the students and used his personal journey to offer guidance and motivation to the next generation.

UWANTGAME and Levert launched the 22 Initiative program in the fall of 2018 in order to help high school students navigate academic and career development challenges. The program set out a goal to help teenagers acquire a variety of life skills through workshops, site visits, speaker series and lectures.
